The Limit Bio plugin allows you to quickly limit the character count on the biographical information field on the edit profile page of your site.

Admin settings to restrict the biography character count site wide.
Limits Users to a specific character count in their bio
Displays the remaining characters allowed and updates in real time as the user types.
Works even if Javascript is disabled
Stops a user from typing when the character count is reached
Replaces the default biographical information field in the wordpress profile
